Westendorf railway station is just a few minutes’ walk from our inn and offers ideal connections for relaxed day trips without a car.

Kitzbühel

Just about a 15-minute drive from Westendorf, the legendary ‘Gamsstadt’ of Kitzbühel invites you to stroll, relax and explore. The historic old town, with its colourful façades, exclusive boutiques, cosy cafés and excellent restaurants, gives the town its very special charm.

As well as the famous Streif and the Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel offers numerous sights, cultural events and attractive leisure activities. Whether it’s a leisurely spot of shopping, a stroll through the old town or a visit to Schwarzsee – Kitzbühel is a worthwhile destination at any time of year.

Kufstein

The fortified town of Kufstein is about a 30-minute drive from Westendorf. The town’s landmark is the imposing Kufstein Fortress, which towers high above the old town and delights visitors with fascinating exhibitions and the famous ‘Heroes’ Organ’.

The picturesque Römerhofgasse, cosy cafés, traditional inns and numerous shopping opportunities invite you to linger. A stroll along the River Inn or a boat trip on the river round off the day perfectly. Kufstein combines history, culture and the Tyrolean way of life in a unique way.

Innsbruck

Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, is about an hour’s drive away. The historic old town with its famous Golden Roof, the Imperial Hofburg and the magnificent Maria-Theresien-Straße make Innsbruck one of Tyrol’s most popular destinations.

Shopping enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy in the numerous shops and shopping centres. Families will love the Alpine Zoo or a ride on the Nordkettenbahn cable car, which takes you from the city centre up into the impressive mountain scenery in just a few minutes. Innsbruck combines culture, history, nature and modern city life in a unique way.

Market Town of St. Johann

The market town of St. Johann in Tirol is about a 25-minute drive from Westendorf. The lively town centre, with its spacious pedestrian zone, is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll past the numerous shops, boutiques and cafés.

As well as a wide range of shopping options, you’ll find cosy restaurants, regular events and an attractive programme of leisure activities. The main square, with its striking Baroque parish church, forms the heart of the market town and gives St. Johann its special charm. Whether for shopping, enjoying the local atmosphere or a relaxing day trip – St. Johann in Tirol is always well worth a visit.

Rattenberg

Austria’s smallest town

About a 35-minute drive from Westendorf lies the medieval town of Rattenberg, known as Austria’s smallest town. Its romantic alleyways, historic houses and traditional glassworks lend the town a very special charm.

Visit one of the glassblowing workshops or glass-cutting workshops, browse the little shops or soak up the historic atmosphere over a leisurely coffee break. Rattenberg is particularly enchanting during Advent with its atmospheric Christmas market.
