Hospitality for generations
The Aschenwald Inn has been family-owned for over 100 years and is now run with great passion by the fourth generation of the family. Four generations live under one roof – each brings its own strengths to the table and helps to ensure that our guests feel right at home with us.
At the heart of it all is our host family: Rosi and Max, Dennis and Christina with their children Eva-Maria and Josef, as well as great-grandmother Marianne, who has now stepped back from day-to-day operations.
Although Rosi is already enjoying her well-deserved retirement, it’s hard to imagine the kitchen without her, and she still lends a hand with great passion. Max warmly welcomes our guests and can often be found at check-in. Christina looks after the office and reception, and ensures a great start to the day with breakfast in the mornings. Dennis is usually busy with the farm and the stables, making sure the animals are well looked after.
Our family business also includes a small farm with sheep, goats, a horse and our house cat. In summer, many of the animals spend their time at the family-owned Rotwandalm in the Windautal – a place where living tradition and authentic alpine life can still be felt to this day.
What unites us is the joy we take in being hosts. With warmth, a sense of community and genuine Tyrolean hospitality, we aim to make your stay something special – both today and for generations to come.
With a great deal of passion and genuine Tyrolean hospitality, Rosi has been the driving force behind the Gasthof Aschenwald for many years.
Although she has long since earned her retirement, she is still hard at work every day from morning till night, and it’s hard to imagine the kitchen without her.
With her many years of experience, her passion for cooking and her warm nature, she ensures that our guests feel completely at home.
With a warm heart and a genuine love of hospitality, Christina is gradually stepping into the next generation of the family business.
Whether in the office, at check-in or at the breakfast buffet – she’s always there for the guests and looks forward to carrying the family tradition into the future together with Dennis.
Our philosophy
We believe that a successful holiday is made up of many little moments – a warm welcome, good food, cosy rooms and honest recommendations for the most beautiful spots in our region.
Local produce, quality and personal hospitality are our top priorities. Many of our products come from the region or directly from our Rotwandalm, where we produce homemade grey cheese, butter and other alpine specialities in the summer.
We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm for the Tyrolean mountains with our guests.
