In winter, Westendorf is transformed into a true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. You can look forward to perfectly groomed slopes in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, one of Austria’s largest and most modern ski resorts. The ski slope in the village centre is ideal for taking your first turns in the snow and offers carefree winter fun, especially for families.
Westendorf also offers a wide range of winter experiences away from the slopes. Cross-country skiers will find perfectly groomed trails, whilst winter walking trails invite you to enjoy leisurely strolls. Several toboggan runs in the region offer even more winter fun.

Skiing

Perfectly groomed slopes, modern lift facilities and stunning views make the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental one of the most popular ski resorts in Austria. From Westendorf, the Alpenrosenbahn takes you straight to the slopes, giving you access to an extensive network of runs with a variety of descents for beginners, families and experienced winter sports enthusiasts. Thanks to modern snow-making facilities, excellent conditions are guaranteed throughout the winter season. Numerous rustic ski huts and sun terraces invite you to stop for a cosy break and enjoy regional specialities.

Our location offers you maximum flexibility: start your day’s skiing in Westendorf or Brixen im Thale, whichever you prefer, and discover the diversity of the SkiWelt.
The ski bus stop is just a few minutes’ walk from our house and takes you comfortably to the valley stations.

Tobogganing in the Brixental valley is an exciting experience for the whole family and an absolute must for all winter sports enthusiasts. The region offers a wide variety of toboggan runs, with something to suit every taste.

One highlight is the toboggan run in Westendorf. Here, you can take the Alpenrosenbahn up the mountain before setting off on your descent to the Schrandlhof. The toboggan run is well-groomed and promises fun and excitement for all ages. A toboggan taxi is available to take you back to the gondola, ensuring a comfortable and safe return journey.

A fantastic tobogganing adventure also awaits you in Kirchberg am Gaisberg. The Gaisberglift takes you up quickly and effortlessly, from where you can whizz down the toboggan run.

The toboggan run in Brixen is also well worth a visit. The Rodelbar hiking trail to the Brixenbachalm takes you through a stunning winter landscape, which you can enjoy on your way to the Brixenbachalm. Once there, you can refuel with regional delicacies before hopping on your sledge and whizzing back down.
